Pre-Approval & Application Process
It’s easy to apply for a mortgage loan or a pre-approval letter with Glass City’s easy online/mobile application via your personal computer, tablet or mobile device! This user-friendly application portal will walk you through each step of the mortgage application process for a:
- Mortgage Loan Pre-approval: if you are trying to find out how much house you can afford before you start house shopping and if you do not have a specific address for a new home purchase. A pre-approval letter is required by your realtor to proceed with beginning the home purchase process.
- Mortgage Home Purchase Loan: if you have a specific address upon signing a purchase agreement for a home
- Mortgage Refinance: if you are interested in refinancing the existing mortgage loan on your current home
To apply for a pre-approval or mortgage loan, you will need:
• Paystubs (two most recent for all borrowers)
• W2 for all borrowers for the past two years
• Tax returns for the past two years (if you are self-employed)
• Deposit and investment statements for the past 60 days

For a refinance, in addition to the above, you will need:
• Home insurance policy
• Mortgage statement
Please note: The number of days from application to closing can vary up to 30 days or more, depending on a number of factors, including loan type, appraisals, and title clearance. Time delays can occur if outside sources or the borrowers do not provide documents and information to the credit union promptly.
